Used a floor lamp instead of my desk lamp for a week. Game changer for glare.
Been dealing with screen glare for months. Tried those anti-glare filters and they made everything look washed out. Then last Tuesday I was rearranging my living room and moved a floor lamp behind my desk. The light bounced off the wall instead of directly onto my monitor. No more squinting. Anyone else use indirect lighting like this?

Man that's a great tip. Last week I moved a tall lamp to the corner of my desk and pointed it at the ceiling. The whole room got this soft glow and my screen stopped looking like a mirror. I tried those clip-on hoods for monitors but they made me feel like I was sitting in a cave. Something about bouncing light off a wall or ceiling just makes everything easier on the eyes. I think I'll keep this setup permanent now.

Bouncing light off the ceiling changed everything for me too. I had a desk lamp with a metal shade that I used to point straight down at my keyboard. It made my screen look like a mirror during the day and gave me a headache by night. Then I flipped the shade so the light went up instead and it was like night and day. Now I just keep a small reading lamp on a shelf behind me and it fills the room without any glare. Feels way more natural than any direct light source I ever tried.
