The day I moved my desk away from the window
For two years, my desk faced a big window looking over my backyard. I thought the natural light was perfect, but I was always squinting at my screen. Last month, I finally turned my whole setup around so the window is to my left side. The change was instant. My monitor glare is gone, and I can actually see my colors correctly now. Has anyone else found that a simple turn of the desk made a huge difference?

Totally makes sense. Read an article once about how most office setups get the light wrong. They said a window to the side is the sweet spot, so you get the light without the fight with your screen. Your eyes don't have to keep adjusting between the bright outside and the monitor. It sounds like such a small thing but it really adds up over a whole workday.

Exactly. It's like how a lot of public benches are placed right in the blazing sun with no shade. Or how some stores have music so loud you can't think. These tiny design choices that fight against basic comfort just wear you down. You end up tired without knowing why. It feels like nobody actually tested the thing with a real person using it.
