That desk lamp I used for 5 years was ruining my video calls - swapped to a cheap dimmable LED strip

I mounted a $15 LED strip under my monitor shelf and pointed it at the wall behind my screen, and now my face actually looks normal on Zoom instead of washed out from the overhead glare.

Idk man, I kinda like the overhead glare thing, makes me look more professional somehow lol

Wait is that you in the video with the white lights bouncing off your forehead? Lol cause same here honestly. I thought it was just me but that overhead glare makes my skin look all glowy and smooth in zoom calls. Plus it hides my little forehead lines better than any ring light ever could. I started tilting my monitor down just a bit to get that exact shine on purpose now.
