Shoutout to the simple monitor riser that saved my neck
For years I just stacked old textbooks under my screen, but after a week of bad neck pain last fall, I finally bought a basic bamboo riser for about thirty dollars. The difference in my posture and comfort was immediate, and I wish I had made the switch sooner. Has anyone else found that one small change to their desk height made a big difference?

That "immediate" posture change is real, I used a ream of printer paper for years before getting a real stand.
