Rant: Standing desks are overrated for actual design work

Tried a $400 standing desk from Autonomous for 6 months. Everyone online swears by them for focus and posture. But I found myself sitting back down every 30 minutes. The height adjustments broke my flow. I actually got less done because I was constantly fiddling with the desk. What I learned is that a solid drafting chair and a fixed height table worked better for my illustration and layout work. Has anyone else dumped their standing desk and gone back to basics?

Did you try a tall drafting stool instead of switching desks?

Drafting stools are hit or miss. I tried one and felt like I was teetering on a barstool trying to type. The foot ring dug into my shins after twenty minutes. If you're tall maybe it works, but for normal height folks it's just a different kind of back pain.
