My monitor was too low for 6 months before I tried this cheap fix
I kept getting neck pain by the end of the day and blamed my chair. Turns out my monitor was just sitting on the stock stand about 3 inches too low. I grabbed a pair of old hardcover textbooks from the thrift store for $4 total and stacked them under the base. Fixed the height perfectly and the neck pain went away in like a week. Has anyone else found a janky household item that actually worked better than buying a $100 monitor arm?

And it's wild how many daily problems are just... geometry issues. Like I had a similar thing with my desk lamp hitting me in the eyes all the time. Took me a year to realize I could just turn the lamp shade. Three seconds of adjustment. Saved me from buying a whole new lamp. It's like we're trained to buy new stuff first, when a stack of books or a simple twist is all we needed.
