My change of heart on those little monitor light bars

I thought they were just a fad for streamers, but my wife got me one for my birthday. After using it for a month, my eyes feel way less tired during late work sessions. It lights up my desk without any glare on the screen at all. Has anyone found a good way to hide the cable for the control switch?

Those things are great for eye strain, but they're definitely not just for streamers. Architects and graphic designers have been using bias lighting for years to cut down on screen glare. It's a real tool, not a fad. For the cable, a bit of flat adhesive cable raceway run along the back edge of your desk works perfectly. It tucks right out of sight.
