My brother convinced me to finally mount my monitor arm after I argued it was just for looks

He came over last week and pointed out how my 34-inch ultrawide was taking up half my desk space in Portland. He said, 'You're paying for all that real estate just to have a monitor stand on it,' and that hit different because he's right. I mounted it yesterday and the extra room for my sketchbook and tablet is a total game changer. What's one small change that gave you back a bunch of workspace?

It's crazy how much space we give up to default setups. I used a laptop stand for years before realizing the built-in keyboard was stealing a foot of desk space. Swapping to a separate keyboard tucked under the monitor freed up room for a whole notepad. We get used to the clutter and stop seeing the empty space we could actually use.

Wait you kept the laptop keyboard on a stand? That's wild, I always assumed people took the laptop off to the side when they did that. So you were basically just lifting the screen but still reaching way out to type? That sounds so uncomfortable.
