Just realized my monitor height was set for someone 6 inches taller
I was at a coworking space in Austin last week and this guy tapped me on the shoulder, said 'your neck is doing all the work your spine should be doing.' I laughed it off but he showed me his setup, top of the screen at eye level, arms making a 90 degree angle. I went home and measured mine, my monitor was 4 inches too high and my chair was tilted back like a recliner. Now I'm torn between the school that says ergonomics is personal and the school that says there's a strict formula everyone should follow. I fixed mine to his specs and my shoulder pain from the last 6 months is basically gone, but I miss how relaxed my old slouch felt. Has anyone else gotten a rude comment about their desk setup that turned out to be totally right, or do you think this whole 'perfect posture' thing is overblown? My coworker still uses a laptop on a pillow and swears he's fine.
