I swapped my gaming chair for a standing desk last February and my back actually misses the cushion
After 3 months of using a standing desk mat I found for $40 on clearance, I noticed my posture in photos went from a question mark to a straight line. The real change happened when I added a footrest I made from an old textbook. Turns out standing still for 6 hours hurts just as bad as sitting, just in different spots. What really got me was how much my energy levels evened out after lunch, no more 2pm slump. Has anyone else found a weird fix like a footrest or weird angle that made a big difference in your setup?

Haven't you noticed most "ergonomic" stuff just trades one pain for another?

Yeah a lot of ergonomic stuff is kinda hit or miss. But honestly I think proper desk height matters way more than the chair or mouse you get. If your desk is too high even the best ergonomic setup will mess up your shoulders.
