Duct tape on my monitor arm fixed my wobble problem

My dual monitor arm kept sagging on the left side no matter how tight I cranked the hex bolt. After 3 tries with different tools I just wrapped duct tape around the joint where it connects to the desk mount. Been solid for 2 months now without any droop. Has anyone else found a weird fix like this for their setup?

Admit it, I half expected to find a YouTube tutorial on "how to turn your monitor arm into a duct tape sculpture" by the time you're done with this. @the_taylor probably has a point about the bolt but honestly if my tape job holds for two years, Im calling it a win until gravity finally catches up with me.

Duct tape is a solid temporary fix but thats not really a permanent solution for a load bearing joint. The hex bolt on those arms is usually a set screw that needs to be tightened with a proper hex key, not a regular screwdriver. If you stripped the threads or the joint is just worn out, the tape is holding it in place by friction alone. Over time that tape will get brittle from heat and sun exposure, especially near a window or monitor heat. You might want to check if there's a beefier replacement bolt or a lock washer that can actually bite into the metal instead of relying on tape. Two months is a good run but I'd keep an eye on it before it drops a monitor.
