Why does nobody talk about the layout of that IKEA in Brooklyn?
I swung by the Red Hook IKEA last weekend, not even to shop for furniture, just to grab some Swedish meatballs and think about how I arrange my home office. But walking through that maze they got, I couldn't stop noticing how every single room setup had a little pointless nook or dead corner. It got me thinking about how we design our own spaces, you know? Like, we copy these showroom plans but never account for our actual sloppy habits, the pile of mail, the dog bed, the half-finished coffee mug. I spent like 45 minutes just wandering and counting how many displays had a chair facing a wall with no purpose, and it felt like a mirror of my own living room. Has anyone else walked through a store like that and realized their whole layout is just a copy of someone else's idea, not their real life? How do you all actually tweak those plans to fit your mess?

45 minutes counting chairs facing walls" is honestly the most relatable thing I've read all week, that's some real self-reflection disguised as a furniture store trip. Did you end up rearranging your office when you got home, or just accept the chaos?
