Warning: My old morning planning habit was a time trap I didn't see coming

Used to spend 20 minutes every morning writing down every single task I could think of for the day. It felt productive but I was really just avoiding actual work. Two weeks ago I switched to picking just 3 things the night before and writing them on a sticky note. Now I actually get stuff done by 9am instead of staring at a long list. Anyone else find that pre-planning the night before kills the morning scramble?
