My 90-day life plan fell apart after a single phone call

I had everything mapped out on a big whiteboard in my Denver apartment, with goals for work, health, and side projects. Then my mom called last Tuesday needing help after a fall, and I had to drop everything and drive to Colorado Springs for a week. Has anyone else had a major life pivot wreck their carefully designed schedule?

Plans are just guesses anyway. The whiteboard can wait.

The thing about a whiteboard is it makes guesses visible, which changes them. A bad plan you can see gets argued with and fixed. A guess in your head just stays wrong until it hits a wall.
