My 2016 bullet journal is now a weird time capsule
I dug out my old bullet journal from 2016 last night, the one I kept for maybe 4 months before giving up. The first pages are so neat, color coded, daily habit trackers for water and steps. By page 40 it's just scribbled to-do lists and a grocery note about almond milk. What got me is how my priorities shifted, I was tracking sleep like a scientist but never wrote down a single career goal or big life plan. Now I use a plain spiral notebook for work stuff, no layout, just messy lines. Still, that old journal shows me exactly when I stopped trying to design my life and started just living it. Anyone else find old planners that feel like a different person wrote them?

Oh HOLD UP, you're giving up too much credit to that old journal. You DID have career goals, you just didn't write them down because back then you probably thought you'd have it all figured out by now. That journal doesn't show you stopped trying, it shows you got real about what actually mattered. The almond milk note is WAY more honest than any habit tracker.
