Just realized my ideal home office setup came from a coffee shop in Austin

I was visiting Austin last month and popped into this little coffee shop called Figure 8 on East 6th. They had these low bookshelves dividing up the space instead of walls and it made the whole place feel open but still private. I sat there for like 3 hours watching people work and realized I could copy that layout in my own tiny apartment. Has anyone else stolen a room design from a random public space they visited?

Oh man, yes! I totally redid my whole living room after a hotel lobby in Portland.

Oh wow, that's exactly what I did too @wendy_clark! I stayed at this place in Chicago once that had these weird teal curtains and a giant globe lamp in the corner. I ended up buying almost an identical lamp off Facebook Marketplace and painting my whole kitchen that same shade of teal. My husband thought I was crazy at first, but now he says it feels like we're on vacation every time we walk in there. It's funny how those little details from a hotel just stick with you and make you want to bring that feeling home.
