I started a 'no meeting Wednesday' rule at my small firm in Omaha, and it's split the team.
The problem was we were all stuck in back-to-back video calls and never had time for deep work. I pushed for a strict policy of no internal meetings on Wednesdays for the last three months. Half the team says it's the best productivity boost we've ever had, the other half feels it just pushes meetings to other days and makes Thursday a nightmare. Has anyone else tried a full day meeting ban and how did you make it work?

Oh man, my buddy's marketing team tried this exact thing. They ended up with these crazy long "prep" emails on Tuesday afternoons because everyone was trying to get questions answered before the quiet day. It sort of worked, but he said the real fix was also making a rule about what kind of meetings could even be booked on the other days.
