I finally visited a fabric store in person after ordering online for years
Last Saturday I drove over to Joann in Oak Park because I needed to match a specific curtain color. I spent maybe 45 minutes just walking through the aisles feeling different materials. It hit me how much I was missing by only shopping from a screen. The weight and texture of a cotton duck versus a linen blend is something you just can't guess from photos. I ended up buying a half yard of three different fabrics to test at home before committing. Has anyone else had a big shift in how they shop after actually going to a store?

Wait, isn't Joann in Oak Park actually an old closed store now?

Closed and still full of fabric. Haunted by half-price coupons.
