I finally stopped planning my whole week on Sunday nights

Everyone in here talks about time blocking and detailed Sunday planning sessions. I tried that for about six months and it just made me anxious. My trick was to only plan the next day, every evening, and leave one big block open for whatever comes up. It sounds small, but it cut my stress in half because I wasn't locked into a plan made days before. Has anyone else moved away from the rigid weekly schedule?

My Sunday night planning lasted exactly two weeks. It felt like setting up a week of appointments with myself that I'd already want to cancel by Tuesday.

Okay but hear me out. Maybe the planning isn't the problem, maybe it's the follow through. Those Sunday night plans are a promise to your future self, and bailing on Tuesday is just breaking that promise. The structure is GOOD for you, even when it feels like a chore. Sticking with it for more than two weeks is how you build the discipline you actually want.
