Chose a fixed schedule over flexible hours, still glad I did

Everyone in this group talks about building flexibility into your day like it's the only way. Last year I quit a job with open hours to start my own workshop in Portland. I picked a strict 8 to 4 routine, lunch at noon, no exceptions. Now 10 months later I've shipped 40 pieces on time and my energy stays steady. My buddy who went flexible keeps pushing meetings around and missing deadlines. Has anyone else found that rigid structure actually frees you up more than freedom does?

Those 40 pieces, did you track how many you finished before the strict hours?
