The Tuesday last month where everything just clicked into place

I had this one day a few weeks ago where I finished three project milestones before lunch. Started the morning by setting up a shared component library in Figma that I had been putting off for months, and it saved me like 2 hours of redoing the same button styles over and over. Then the client actually approved a wireframe on the first try which never happens for me. By 3pm I was tweaking some hover states and realized the whole team was using the same color tokens without me having to chase anyone down. Has anyone else hit a flow state like that where the tools just work with you instead of against you?

Did you catch that UX podcast episode about color token hierarchies last week?

Wait, you're telling me there are days where Figma components actually save time instead of making things more complicated? I used to be convinced shared libraries were just extra steps that broke every time someone sneezed near the team folder. But I had a similar moment last month when I finally sat down and fixed our color tokens properly, and suddenly everything stopped fighting me. It felt like the software was actually on my side for once, which made me wonder if I'd been doing it wrong this whole time.

Pretty sure Figma components are like having a moderately useful pet that you have to train for weeks before it stops peeing on your carpet. The color tokens thing is the real secret though. Once you get those right everything else actually works like it's supposed to. But give it a week and someone will rename a component to "button FINAL v3" and the entire library will spontaneously combust. I swear shared libraries were invented by someone who's never had to work on a team with more than three people.
