The $8 box cutter that sped up my mockup trimming
Back in 2019 I used scissors for every print layout mockup, took me about 20 minutes per set. Then I watched a buddy in Austin slice through a stack of 80lb paper with a cheap retractable blade, clean as anything. Now I keep two of those red Stanley knives on my desk, one sharp and one for rough cuts, and I trim a whole client deck in under 5 minutes. Anyone else swap out their old cutting tools and wonder why they waited so long?

The trick is keeping the blades fresh, a dull knife makes you press harder and then you're shredding paper instead of cutting it. Grab a pack of replacement blades and swap them out every couple weeks, it's cheaper than a new knife anyway.
