That random overheard tip about color picking in a coffee shop
I was sitting in a cafe in Austin last week and heard someone mention they always sample colors from a photo with motion blur instead of a static shot. Tried it on a recent branding project and the palette came out way more natural, less flat. Anyone else use weird tricks to pull color palettes?

Peeped this with a photo of my backyard at golden hour the other day and it honestly gave me a way better feel for the colors than just staring at the raw shot. It's like how you sometimes get the best read on a person by catching them off guard instead of during a posed picture lol.

Doubt it's that deep for picking out some colors.

Feel for you on this one man. I've been in that spot where people think I'm overthinking something simple like choosing between two blues for a room. But honestly when you stare at those swatches under different lights all day it really does start to feel important. Like that one time I spent a whole weekend deciding between two nearly identical greys for my kitchen and my wife still says I made the wrong choice. It's just one of those things where if you care even a little bit it becomes a whole thing.
