Spent 4 years overcomplicating my color palette until I saw a client's 2-color brand guide that nailed everything

It was a coffee shop menu from 2019 that used just one bold accent and a neutral, and I finally understood that less is more after I counted 15 swatches in my own file and felt like an idiot.

Forced myself to cut my own palette down to three colors and it felt awful at first, but after a week everything started looking way more polished. The real shift happened when I stopped treating every brand as needing its own rainbow and just focused on what actually needed to be communicated. Clients don't care how many swatches you can pick, they just want it to look clean and finished.

Oh come on, it's just colors not a life crisis.
