Senior dev told me to stop naming layers 'final v3' and he was right after I lost a client revision.
Had to spend 3 hours digging through 12 unnamed Photoshop layers to revert a change last month because I couldn't find the original, has anyone else dealt with a messy file that cost you actual money?

Started using a date-based system like "header_v2023_04_15" and never looked back. Saved my butt when a client wanted last year's design back and I found it in 30 seconds flat.

Right, because "final_v2_USE_THIS_ONE_copy" is such a crystal clear filename. Been there, wasted an entire afternoon on a client's "update" that was actually the version before last.
