My color palette plugin crashed mid-presentation last Tuesday

I was showing a client my mood board for a restaurant rebrand in Phoenix. The plugin I use to pull hex codes from images just froze and dumped everything. I had 30 minutes before the meeting and no backup of those specific swatches. I ended up screenshotting the reference photos and manually picking colors with the eyedropper tool. It took forever but the client actually preferred the new shades I chose on the fly. Now I keep a screenshot of every palette before I touch any plugin. Has anyone else had a tool fail at the worst possible time and it worked out?

I used to think having backups was overkill until my color palette tool glitched during a client call last month. Now I take screenshots of everything too, it really does save you when things go sideways.

things go sideways" is doing a lot of heavy lifting here lol. Unless you're doing surgery or flying a plane, a color tool glitching is annoying but not exactly a crisis. I get being frustrated during a client call but taking screenshots of everything seems like overkill for something that's probably just going to crash once a year. Most of these tools auto-save now anyway. Feels like we're preparing for a natural disaster when really it's just a minor inconvenience.
