Just realized my 'quick' Figma component edits were costing me hours after a project manager asked why a button style changed in 12 files.
I started making a master component library in a separate file last month, and linking everything from there, which cut my update time from maybe 45 minutes to under five for those kinds of global changes.

Did you read that article about design debt and component libraries?

Which article was it? We tried to build a library at my last job and it got messy fast. My advice is to start with just the buttons and form inputs everyone uses, get those perfect, then slowly add more. If you try to build every single part at once, you'll never finish.
