Heads up on that $40/month AI design assistant subscription

I signed up hoping it would speed up my mockup work, but it kept generating unusable, generic layouts that wasted more time than they saved. Has anyone found an AI tool that actually gets your specific style?

That $40 price point feels like a trap now. It's the same with those meal kit services that promise to save time but just give you more dishes to wash. The AI keeps guessing what "good design" is based on averages, so it never lands on anything with a real point of view. You end up fighting the tool more than using it. I've stopped expecting any software to understand my specific taste automatically. The time I waste correcting generic output could have been spent just making the thing from scratch.

Sometimes the generic starting point is all you need.

Oh man, I gotta disagree a bit here. I find that generic starting point is actually the whole point - it's like having a bad first draft you can tear apart and rebuild, which for me is way faster than staring at a blank canvas. The AI doesn't need to nail my style, it just needs to give me something to react to and then I push and pull from there.
