That faded hardware store sign in Philadelphia changed how I print
Last month I was walking around South Philly and noticed this old painted sign for a hardware store that closed in the 80s. The letters were chipped and faded but the layout was so solid it still looked intentional, like a design choice instead of decay. I always tried to keep my posters and zines looking clean and perfect, but that sign had a raw energy I never got with my own work. I started leaving small imperfections in my last few prints and now I actually like them more than my neat stuff. Anyone else ever find inspiration in something worn out or broken and it changed their style?
