Spent 2 hours fighting a bubble in a vinyl window graphic in Portland
Went to put up a 6 foot window decal for a coffee shop on Hawthorne and this stupid air bubble kept spreading no matter how many times I squeegeed it. The vinyl was fine, the application fluid was fine, but the glass had this invisible film from some old adhesive that I didn't catch. Took a razor blade, some rubbing alcohol, and 45 extra minutes to fix it. Has anyone else run into mystery residue on storefront glass that just wrecks your install time?

45 minutes on that mystery gunk is wild, I mean I've had old tape residue before but never something that just ate my whole afternoon like that. The way you describe it, the bubble just kept sliding around like it was alive, that's the kind of thing that makes me want to double check every window with a flashlight before I even mix the soap. I had a similar thing happen once on a bank window in Sellwood, but it was just a weird greasy spot, took me maybe ten minutes. Forty five though, that's brutal. I'd be staring at that coffee shop every time I drove past, just reliving the whole thing.
