Hit 100 zines sold at the Portland Art Book Fair and I only brought 50
I printed 50 copies thinking that was optimistic, but by 2 PM on Saturday I was out and people were asking if I had a digital version, so now I'm wondering if the physical format is what made them want it or if they just liked the risograph texture, has anyone else underpriced their print run and regretted it?

... which means I way overestimated how much people actually want tiny paper rectangles with my doodles on them, and now I have a box of shame under my bed that doubles as a cat bed warmer. The risograph texture is definitely part of it though, people lose their minds over that crinkle and smell, I've had strangers pick up a zine just to rub the cover like it's a magic carpet. Take the sellout as a win, but maybe bump your next run to 75 and pretend you're being bold, that way you can still feel humble when you're wrong.

The cat bed warmer angle is honestly the real marketing gold here.
