Had to pick between a $3 thrift store poster and a $40 print at the local art walk

I was at Goodwill last week and found a vintage wildlife poster for $3, then later that night saw the same style print at a street fair selling for $40. I bought the cheap one because I'm cheap, but the colors are faded in a way that actually looks kind of cool. Has anyone else scored a bargain that ended up looking better than the fancy version?

Nah, $40 supports local artists that’s the whole point.

Yeah "supports local artists" is actually what got me. I used to think $40 was too much for a poster but when you break it down it's not even a full day's wage for most people and the artist gets maybe $15 of that. Changed my mind for sure.
