Guy at the print shop lectured me about font choices for 15 minutes

I was just trying to order 50 flyers for a garage sale in Denver last Saturday, and the old guy behind the counter starts going off about how my Arial needs to die. He literally said 'Arial is the sweatpants of typography' and pointed to a rack of vintage typeface samples he printed himself. I just stood there holding my phone with the design I made in 10 minutes. Anyone else run into these gatekeepers at local print shops?

Just smile and nod is the move I learned. Had a guy at a print shop try to upsell me on some fancy paper stock for a simple flyer once, stood there half listening while he talked about grain direction. Picked up my order the next day with a different employee at the register and never saw the first guy again.
