Found a crumpled zine in a coffee shop in Seattle that totally changed my layout approach

I was at Victrola on Pike Street last month grabbing a latte and spotted this little DIY zine stuffed between the sugar packets. It was about local mushroom foraging and the whole thing was laid out on a single folded A3 sheet. No grids, no margins, just raw handwritten text and cutout photos taped down. It made me realize how stiff my poster designs were with all that white space and alignment. I went home and redesigned a show flyer using only found paper and a glue stick. It felt like I broke out of a rut I didn't even know I was in. Has anyone else had a random piece of print just click something in your brain?

My glue stick collection is almost more embarrassing than my design skills.
