Rant: the paint sample wall at Home Depot on 34th drove me nuts

Was picking colors for my studio corner last Friday and tried to compare two grays, but the lighting in that aisle is horrible. Everything looked blue under the fluorescents and orange near the window display. I ended up buying 3 samples at $6 each and none matched my poster frames. Does anyone else test colors at home before committing, or do you trust those little cards?
