Old me never checked contrast on my own posters until a mentor pointed it out

I used to just pick colors that looked nice and wondered why my posters felt so hard to read. Last month in Austin, a friend who does accessibility testing ran one of my flyers through a contrast checker and the numbers were awful, like 1.8 to 1. Now I use the built-in contrast tool in Figma before I export anything. Has anyone else gotten into the habit of checking this stuff first, or do you still eyeball it?

My monitor's brightness has been maxed since 2019, so everything looks fine to me.
