Grid or freeform? The craft fair flyer debate I walked into
Went to a local craft fair in Des Moines last Saturday and noticed something. Half the vendor flyers used a strict 3-column grid, clean and neat. The other half just placed stuff wherever it felt right, with tilted badges and overlapping shapes. The grid ones felt easier to read from a distance, but the freeform ones got way more double takes from people walking by. One vendor told me she switched from grid to freeform after 3 shows and her business card pickup doubled. So which matters more for a beginner, clear structure or grabbing attention? Has anyone else tested both styles on real people and seen a clear winner?

Did you track what people actually did after the double takes, like picking up the flyer or just glancing?
