Warning: that bootstrap clone from a contractor caused a riot with our devs

I was on a project for a bank in Austin and some guy promised a custom design system. He just copied Bootstrap 3, swapped the brand colors, and called it a day. Took our team 3 months to untangle all the breakpoint bugs. Anyone else deal with a lazy vendor doing this?

Whoa, three months just for breakpoint bugs? That's brutal. I feel bad for your team getting stuck cleaning up something that should have been a foundation. People really underestimate how much work goes into making a design system actually work.

Agree with @miles_roberts22 on that - a solid design system saves everyone headaches down the road, but nobody sees the months of grinding to get the details right.
