Tried to standardize button padding across 12 apps and my lead dev almost quit
I spent a whole weekend measuring all the padding on buttons in our design system. Found that 8 out of 12 apps used different spacing for the same primary button. I made this nice spreadsheet showing the gaps and brought it to our Monday standup. My lead dev just stared at me and said 'you know we have 400 other tickets right now right?' Then he went on a 5 minute rant about how button padding doesnt matter when users cant even find the checkout flow. I get it we have bigger issues but now im paranoid every time I open Figma. Has anyone else had a team blow up over something that seemed like a small win?
