The week our design system's naming convention completely fell apart
We had to rename over 200 component variants after a new dev argued 'button - primary - large - disabled' was 'objectively bad'... Has anyone else had to rebuild their token structure from scratch?

Wait, they made you rename 200 things because one person said it was bad? That's wild lol. I'd be so mad if my whole week got wrecked by a single opinion.

Seriously though, was the old system actually breaking anything? Sounds like change for its own sake.

The old system had a lot of manual steps that took hours every month. One person's fix actually saved our whole team from doing the same boring data entry over and over. It wasn't really about one opinion - it was about someone finally speaking up about a problem everyone else just accepted. Renaming 200 things sounds like a pain but sometimes you gotta do the grunt work to clean up a mess. I've been on both sides and usually the clean up is worth it in the long run. Change for its own sake is dumb but this sounds like it actually had a reason.
