The one number in our design system that broke every mockup

I was digging through our component library last Tuesday and noticed our default button padding was set to 24px horizontal but the old Sketch file said 20px. Turns out the dev who built the first React version fat-fingered it back in 2021 and nobody caught it for nearly 3 years. Every screen I mocked up for that entire period was 4px wider on buttons. Has anyone else found a single wrong number that threw off tons of designs?

Found the same thing with our modal overlay opacity. Some intern typed .7 instead of .75 in 2019 and we just shipped 40+ screens with slightly transparent modals before anyone noticed.

Used to think pixel pushing didn't matter but yeah this is a nightmare scenario.
