That $700 icon library set us back two weeks in Omaha

We bought a big icon package last March thinking it would speed things up, but every icon had weird stroke weights that clashed with our UI. I spent about 14 days patching overrides and custom paths before my boss said, 'just draw them yourself.' Has anyone else burned budget on a premium asset pack only to rebuild half of it manually?

My buddy dropped $400 on a premium icon set for his side project and the "regular" weight icons looked thicker than the "bold" ones. He spent a whole weekend rebuilding the arrow and checkmark icons by hand, plus rewrote half his CSS just to force the stroke alignment. Ended up deleting the entire pack from his repo and going back to a free set that was way more consistent.
