That $5 sketchbook from the dollar store actually outlasted my Moleskine

I picked up this cheap spiral pad at a CVS in Brooklyn three months ago, thinking it'd fall apart in a week. The paper held up fine with my fountain pen and the spine never cracked, unlike that $20 Moleskine I bought last year. Anyone else find random budget supplies that beat the expensive stuff?

that $20 Moleskine" - yeah I feel that. Picked up a random sketchbook from a drugstore in Chicago once and it took watercolor washes like a champ. The expensive ones just crumble after a month or two. Cheap stuff sometimes just works better for no reason.
