Showerthought: The way I arrange my desk plants actually follows the same spacing rules as my old floor plans from 3 years ago
I was rearranging my monstera and pothos last week and realized I was leaving exactly 6 inches between pots, same gap I used to leave between furniture placements when I was laying out living rooms for clients - has anyone else noticed design habits bleeding into totally unrelated parts of their life?

Pretty sure that's just your brain finding patterns where none exist. Leaving 6 inches between houseplants and living room furniture isn't some deep design habit, it's just a normal amount of space to leave between things so they don't look cluttered. Most people do that without thinking about it.
The whole "design habits bleeding into life" thing sounds dramatic for what's basically just having a decent sense of spacing. It's not like you're measuring the gaps between your cereal boxes in the pantry with a tape measure.
Sounds more like you're bored and overthinking your houseplants than anything else.

Haha, "cereal boxes in the pantry with a tape measure" - you caught me. I've definitely never done that. Nope. Not once. I definitely don't have a mental system for stacking cans in my cabinet so they're all facing the same direction, like some kind of pantry design project. But hey, if that makes me someone who's "bored and overthinking" then I guess I'll just go stare at my 6-inch gaps and contemplate my life choices.
