My coffee shop sketch took 9 tries to get a simple line right

I was doodling a mug shape for a client's menu design last Tuesday and kept erasing the handle. It looked crooked or too thick no matter what, and I spent a solid 45 minutes just on that one curve. Turns out my wrist was angled wrong on the table, plus I was gripping the pen too tight like a wrench. After I loosened up and switched to a finer tip, it clicked in like 2 minutes. Has anyone else frozen up on a tiny detail that suddenly took forever for no good reason?

Did you catch that tip about pen grip from that art YouTuber who talks about hand fatigue? I read somewhere that most people death grip their pen without realizing it.

90% of people probably hold their phone wrong too, same death grip but with a thumb doing all the work.
