I finally stopped forcing a grid and let the poster breathe
At 2am on Saturday I kept nudging type around a 12-column layout for a show flyer and it just kept feeling dead, so I deleted the whole structure and eyeballed it freeform. It took 3 tries to get the spacing right but the final version sold out the venue, has anyone else hit a wall where the framework itself was the problem?

Used to be all about the grid, thought freeform was lazy design. That flyer story just made me realize the structure was what I was hiding behind, not helping me.
