Appreciation post: the $12 clipboard that beat my fancy drafting table

Last month I watched a barista sketch a whole logo on a cheap clipboard during her break, and three years of insisting I needed expensive gear went out the window, so has anyone else ditched a pricey setup for something dumb and basic?
