A client in Austin told me my mockups were 'too clean' and now I add noise to everything

I mean, I spent like 3 weeks polishing these UI frames, rounded corners, consistent spacing, the whole vibe. Then this guy squints at my screen and goes 'it feels sterile, like a hospital lobby.' So I started dropping subtle grain overlays and slightly off-grid type placements, just enough to feel human. It's weird how a tiny texture tweak made my work feel more alive, but also I worry I'm overdoing it now. Has anyone else gotten feedback that sounded dumb at first but actually fixed your style?
