Update: my kitchen reno got faster once I stopped picking tiles on my phone

I spent 11 weeks stuck on backsplash choices because the samples looked different on my screen in Louisville. Once I drove to a tile shop and held three options against my actual counter in that lighting, I picked one in 20 minutes. Has anyone else found physical stores beat online browsing for big color decisions?

The phone is fine for scrolling, but it lies about color every time. I get your point about seeing it in person, but I found the opposite with my floors, the app showed a gray that looked great and the store sample looked totally different under their lights. Turns out lighting in the shop can mess you up just as much, so I ended up buying a sample and living with it for a week before I committed.
