Took me 4 weekends to realize my bathroom tile layout was 2 inches off
Ngl, I spent three full Saturdays measuring and remeasuring that shower wall before even cutting one tile, and somehow still ended up with a sliver cut that threw off the whole pattern. Has anyone else had a renovation project where the math just wouldn't cooperate no matter how many times you checked?

Start by remembering tile spacing - that 2 inch gap might actually be from forgetting to account for your grout lines when you did the math. Those little 1/8 inch gaps add up fast (ask me how I know).

Oh man, tell me about it! My buddy Mike redid his bathroom floor a few years back and he swore he measured everything perfect. He laid out all the tiles dry on the floor and it looked great. But then he started actually setting them with grout spacers and by the time he got to the far wall he was off by almost 3 inches. He had to pull up half the floor and start over because he just couldn't make it work. He said he totally forgot that every single grout line eats up a little bit of space and it multiplies like crazy across a whole room. Now he always does a full dry layout with spacers before he even mixes any thinset.
